🌟 展覽介紹 🌟
視覺由光組成,光照射在物上,使其形體得以呈現;物攔截光,使光停留於形上。
數位空間透過建置虛擬光源,藉光、影形構出物可視的形體與空間,致使光成為虛擬實境中獲取資訊的主要手段。若消除攔截光的演算,形成可見空間的消弱以及質感的剝離——此時,我們對虛擬場域中的光,還能感受到什麼?
作品《截光》是一個可自由操控光線的空間,透過隙光探索物與空間的邊界,並試圖將現實中光的資訊捕捉至虛擬場域,建構出視覺層次之外的訊息,使觀眾透過光解碼潛藏於光影背後的記憶。《截光》捕捉光、攔截光,任其調度記憶中的風景,進而思考光作為虛擬顯現、邏輯形式的存在,如何構築空間、現實與虛擬,並帶給人感知上的回饋。
🌟 Exhibition Introduction 🌟
Visual presentation consists of light, which illuminates on objects, allowing them to take form. While light is retained by objects, it is, therefore, embodied in various forms.
In digital spaces, virtual light sources present visible forms and space through the play of light and shadow; light, hence, becomes the means of transmitting information in virtual reality. Should the capture and use of light be taken out of equation, the visible space weakens, and the makeup of forms is stripped away; then what do we make of light in such a virtual space?
With Glimpse of Light maneuvering light at will, the artists use slit light source to explore the boundaries of objects and space, attempting to capture the information of light in the real world and place it in a virtual space. Receiving information beyond visual perception, viewers will be able to interpret memories sewn between light and shadow. Glimpse of Light captures, retains, and makes use of light to rearrange scenes in viewers’ memory. This, in turn, incites a reflection on how light, as both a virtual manifestation and logical form, constructs space, reality, and the virtual world, while bringing sensory feedback.
🌟 關於藝術家 🌟
林俊遑、黃紀虹,擅長科技藝術創作與互動開發。創作多以動力機械、聲光裝置為主。關注於日常中無感訊息與環境和人文之間產生的連結,並思考如何透過藝術實踐使彼此產生對話。曾獲得全國美展新媒體類 首獎(2024)、法國Laval Virtual World – RECTO VRso 入圍(2024)。
🌟 About the Artist 🌟
Lin Chun-Huang and Huang Chi-Hung specialize in techno-art and interactive development, with their works featuring kinetic machinery and installations with sound and light. Fond of how unnoticed everyday information interacts with the environment and culture, Lin and Huang try out art practices that facilitate dialogue between these subjects. Their projects have received recognitions including the First Prize in the New Media Art category at the National Art Exhibition R.O.C. (2024) and were selected into the finalists at the Laval Virtual World – RECTO VRso in France (2024).
